This season's Off-Broadway line-up includes: the U.S. Premiere of Howard Barker's Victory: Choices in Reaction, starring four-time Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk Award-winner Jan Maxwell in her 4th collaboration with PTP, directed by PTP's Co-Artistic Director and NYIT Award nominee Richard Romagnoli (American Associate of The Wrestling School); the U.S. Premiere of Steven Dykes' Territories, two stories of politics and desire, The Spoils and a light gathering of dust, directed by PTP's Co-Artistic Director Cheryl Faraone; and a revival of Neal Bell's Spatter Pattern: or, How I Got Away With It, directed by PTP's Co-Artistic Director Jim Petosa.

The new Broadway musical Baby It's You! tells the inspiring story of Florence Greenberg, the woman who changed the recording world forever when she discovered The Shirelles and created Scepter Records, becoming the music industry's first female powerhouse. Starring Tony Award winner Beth Leavel as Greenberg, conceived by Floyd Mutrux, directed by Floyd Mutrux and Sheldon Epps, and written by Tony nominated book writers Mutrux and Colin Escott, the team behind Broadway's Million Dollar Quartet, Baby It's You! began performances at Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street) Saturday, March 26, 2011, and opens TONIGHT, April 27, 2011, at 6:30pm. The National Theatre of Great Britain's production of WAR HORSE, presented by Lincoln Center Theater and the National Theatre of Great Britain in association with Bob Boyett, is now in previews at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65th Street). WAR HORSE is based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo, adapted by Nick Stafford, with Handspring Puppet Company, and directed by Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris. Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post this morning that the famous hate-fest between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis is the inspiration of a new play that could hit the New York scene big as early as 2012. BETTE AND JOAN, as the play is called, receieved a private reading last week directed by Doug Hughes and starred Christine Ebersole (Bette Davis) and Jan Maxwell (Joan Crawford).

Hartford Stage Opens 2011 with Snow Falling on Cedars, Closes 2/13

Snow Falling on Cedars, the acclaimed best-selling novel by David Guterson, comes to life this winter at Hartford Stage in a fresh adaptation by Kevin McKeon.
