Fox Theatre Hosts Lexus' Exclusive R. Land LC 500

In partnership with Lexus, the Fox Theatre proudly hosts the car company's hand-painted LC 500 in its famed arcade pathway for patrons to admire now through November 2018. Atlanta artist R. Land, whose work is featured at the Atlanta History Museum, Georgia State Capitol and countless businesses and establishments throughout Georgia and the Southeast, was chosen to create the street art car earlier this year in celebration of the 10th Annual Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival.

Two legendary performers teamed up to release an album ahead of their individual shows this fall at The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts. Tony Bennett and Diana Krall celebrate their shared love of the music of George and Ira Gershwin on their new collaborative album, "Love is Here to Stay," set for wide release on September 14. Audiences can see them each perform live on The Hanover Theatre stage. Tony Bennett: 10th Anniversary Performance and Gala is on Friday, September 28 at 7:30 pm and Diana Krall: Turn Up The Quiet World Tour 2018 comes to the theatre on Saturday, October 6 at 8 pm.

Fox Theatre Presents PUDDLES PITY PARTY HOLIDAY JUBILEE; On Sale 12/18

Puddles Pity Party, "the sad clown with the golden voice," will showcase his awe-inspiring vocals and comical candor at Atlanta's Fox Theatre on Tuesday, December 18 at 7:30 p.m., for his first official holiday show 'Puddles Pity Party & Friends Holiday Jubilee.' A singularly special event, the Holiday Jubilee marks Puddles' first-ever headlining performance at the Fox and promises to be a joyous evening filled with holiday cheer and perhaps even a few tears of nostalgia. Puddles' show will include the implementation of The Fox's custom M.P. Moller pipe organ "Mighty Mo," which is the second-largest theater organ in the world, and a number of soon to be announced special guests that are near and dear to Puddles.

Have you ever wondered what's behind the scenes of a theater or what the symbolism of a ghost light is? That and much more will be explored and explained during the Palace Theater's monthly tour on Saturday, September 22 from 11:00 am - 12:30pm.  The guided tour offers an opportunity to get an insider's view and learn about the magic behind the curtain along with the history and lore steeped in  ninety-five years as an entertainment venue and community gathering place.  Admission to the tour given by trained Palace Ambassadors is $5.00 per person and can be purchased online at www.palacetheaterct.org, by phone at 203-346-2000, or in person at the Box Office, 100 East Main St. in Waterbury. Groups of ten or more are asked to contact the Box Office in advance to register their group.

THE ANCHORESS to Get World Premiere At the Kimmel Center

The Anchoress, a new monodrama by composer David Ludwig, "a composer with something urgent to say" (Philadelphia Inquirer), will have its world premiere on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 7:30 PM at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia under the auspices of the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society. The next evening, Thursday, October 18, the New York premiere will take place at DiMenna Center for Classical Music. Set to texts by Katie Ford, whose poetry "possess[es] the veiled brilliance of stained glass windows seen at night" (The New York Times Book Review), The Anchoress is based on the medieval mystic tradition called anchorism and its relationship to contemporary society. It will be performed by soprano Hyunah Yu, the early music ensemble Piffaro: The Renaissance Wind Band, and all-saxophone PRISM Quartet.

Legends, myths and facts are all part of the Palace Theater story told during  monthly tours of this grand venue.    Tours are ninety minutes* and are conducted by Palace Ambassadors who are trained volunteers in the theater's history, architecture and lore.  Admission is $5.00 per person and can be purchased online at www.palacetheaterct.org, by phone at 203-346-2000, or in person at the Box Office, 100 East Main St. in Waterbury. Groups larger than ten people are asked to contact the Box Office to register in advance.
