The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, National New Play Network, The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, and Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation jointly announce the selection of five directors from a nationwide pool of applicants for the 2017 National Directors Fellowship: Sherri Eden Barber

ABC continues its commitment to distinctive storytelling with the announcement of its 2017-18 slate of programming. Channing Dungey, president, ABC Entertainment, will unveil the network's new lineup to the advertising and media communities this afternoon at Lincoln Center's David Geffen Hall in New York City.

Opening tonight at 3-Legged Dog is the world premiere of 3/Fifths, conceived and written by James Scruggs, with direction and dramaturgy by Tamilla Woodard and Kareem Fahmy, and choreographed by Andre M. Zachery. 3/Fifths, an interactive romp through the minefields of racism in the US, turns 3LD Art and Technology Center into SupremacyLand, a dystopian theme park that puts white privilege on display.

The Old Globe today announced its 2017-2018 Season, which will kick off with the world premiere musical Benny & Joon, with book by Kirsten Guenther, music by Nolan Gasser, and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein.

In May 2017, Utah Opera will present Mozart's “Don Giovanni,” a tale of love, seduction, and murder as seen through the stylized lens of a 1950s “film noir” cinematic approach. This production will be performed five times at the Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre on May 13, 15, 17, 19 at 7:30 PM and May 21 at 2 PM. Ensemble Studio Theatre and Radio Drama Network announced today the lineup for the 36th MARATHON OF ONE-ACT PLAYS, the biennial festival series of brand new plays from emerging playwrights.

As previously announced, Second Stage Theatre will begin the 2017 Uptown Series with the world premiere of Chisa Hutchinson's SOMEBODY'S DAUGHTER, directed by MAY ADRALES.

Playwrights Horizons has announced, following critical acclaim and popular demand, a one-week extension for The Profane, the world premiere of a new play by Horton Foote Prize winner Zayd Dohrn (Sick, Reborning) and directed by Kip Fagan (Grand Concourse at Playwrights, Exit Strategy).

One production still remains in Blackfriars Theatre's 67th Season: Death of a Salesman, Arthur Miller's classic American drama about Willy Loman, the aging, failing salesman who makes his living riding on a smile and a shoeshine.

The Muny announced today 21 principal cast members for its 99th season. Full company casting will be announced throughout April. The 2017 Muny season opens with Jesus Christ Superstar followed by Disney's The Little Mermaid and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. The season continues with the premiere of All Shook Up! and a newly re- envisioned The Unsinkable Molly Brown. Season 99 closes with A Chorus Line and the much- anticipated Muny debut of Newsies.

SWEAT, the acclaimed new play by Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage, directed by Kate Whoriskey opens tonight on Broadway at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street). The Theatre Group at SBCC will present RABBIT HOLE, David Lindsay-Abaire's touching play, as the final play in the 16/17 season.  Directed by Katie Laris, performances will be April 12-29 in the intimate Jurkowitz Theatre.

Online theater streaming service BroadwayHD will live stream The Public Theater's 'THE GABRIELS: Election Year in the Life of One Family,' written and directed by Richard Nelson. The critically acclaimed three-play cycle is currently touring internationally and will return to The Public Theater on March 22-24 for a special live stream mini-series.

The New Black Fest and The Lark, two theater organizations dedicated to celebrating and advocating for extraordinary and diverse stories, have announced the third annual The New Black Fest at The Lark.

Enchantment abounds as the season continues with the Bay Area Premiere of Marc Norman, Tom Stoppard and Lee Hall's effervescent romance, Shakespeare in Love, coming to MTC this holiday season. In the Elizabethan era, when women are forbidden to become actors, what's a stage-struck lady to do? Lady Viola de Lesseps adores plays, especially those by a young writer named Will Shakespeare, but can only look on longingly as men and boys perform them. Will, meanwhile, has his own struggles: his inspiration fled, his debts and unwritten commissions piling up…until he meets an unknown young player named Thomas Kent, who speaks his words as he's always dreamed they'd be spoken, and a beautiful woman named Viola, who could be just the muse he needs. Under the direction of MTC artistic director Jasson Minadakis, this stage adaptation of the beloved film finds its true essence: a love letter to the power of theatre and the imagination.
