The first edition of The Stage Debut Awards was a success, and the red carpet turn-up was a grand and sparkling line of stars and stars-in-the-making. Dressed to the nines in suits, gowns, and make-up worthy of Hollywood's glitziest of nights and shrouded in the humbleness and grace that only belong to the theatre folk (well, most of them, anyway), actors, writers, composers, and directors walked with full hearts and starry eyes. Second Thought Theatre Announces 2018 Season

On the heels of closing a successful 13th season, Second Thought Theatre Artistic Director Alex Organ announced details for the company's 2018 season today. The new season adds a fourth production for the first time since 2013 and is comprised of three area premieres and one world premiere. Play selections include 'a work of total fiction' taking place during the 2008 New Hampshire Democratic primary, a committed couple resorting to a miracle drug to regain their capacity for empathy, a city planner fighting for the safety of a town that doesn't want his help, and a provocative ensemble piece that exposes the incongruities of being a woman in the 21st century. Prince's Paisley Park in Chanhassen, Minnesota has announced the nine finalists for the special four-day Battle of the Bands event, titled MUSICOLOGY – Summer 2017, to be held August 31st through September 3rd at Paisley Park.  The unique live performance event will highlight “Real Music By Real Musicians” – an ethos Prince consistently championed through his life, creative works and incendiary live performances.  The finalists are: Cosmos (Seattle, WA), iLLism (Minneapolis, MN), Pho (Minneapolis. MN), The Nightowls (Austin, TX), Black Alley (Washington, DC), Le'Asha Julius (New York, NY), Anonymous Da Band (Atlanta, GA), Radiochurch (Minneapolis, MN) and Purple Funk Metropolis (Minneapolis, MN).  The groups were selected from an open pool of video submissions entered via Paisley Park's official Facebook page between July 7th – 31st.
