FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, SWEENEY TODD, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, COMPANY, CABARET, FOLLIES. Each was directed and/or produced by Broadway legend Harold Prince. Each contributed to his record-high pile of Tony awards, and has been produced and acclaimed across the world.

The Cabaret and Buckingham Companies announced plans today that will give The Cabaret a prominent, permanent downtown location in the Metzger Building at 9th and Pennsylvania Street in the heart of the evolving Library Square. The new space, which also houses the Arts Council of Indianapolis and Gallery 924, and once served as the Rollerland skating rink from the 1940s to the late 1970s, provides the perfect venue for The Cabaret.

Carolines on Broadway, New York City's premier comedy venue, presents its talented line-up for the month of August, highlighted by headliners Artie Lange, from HBO's Crashing, August 3 - 5; social media sensation Kountry Wayne, August 10 - 12; Tracy Morgan, from NBC's 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live, August 17 - 20; and international comedy sensation Russell Peters, August 23 - 26.

Olivier Award winner, West End and Broadway star, and director of the Huntington's Merrily We Roll Along, Maria Friedman brings her critically acclaimed solo show Lenny & Steve: The Music of Bernstein & Sondheim to the Huntington for a one-night only concert event on Monday, September 18 at 7:30pm, accompanied by her longtime collaborator, musical director and pianist Jason Carr. This special cabaret will take place at the Avenue of the Arts / Huntington Avenue Theatre. Tickets are now on sale and start at $25.

The following acts are performing at City Winery Chicago, 1200 W. Randolph Street, throughout the month of August. Featured performances include three shows with Rachelle Ferrell on August 4-5, Roomful of Blues' on their 50th anniversary tour on August 17, Grammy award-winner Rickie Lee Jones on August 20, Welsh alt-rock group The Alarm on August 28 and more. Bay Street Theater has announced a 'Pay What You Can' performance for AS YOU LIKE IT, a comedy by William Shakespeare, directed by Tony Award winner John Doyle, with original music by Stephen Schwartz, on Tuesday, August 8 at 7 pm.

Today's subject Mary Gordon Murray is currently living her theatre life onstage at The Kennedy Center's Eisenhower Theater playing Fräulein Schneider in the national tour of Cabaret. The production plays through August 6th.

The Huntington Theatre Company will open its 2017-2018 season with the legendary musical Merrily We Roll Along by Stephen Sondheim. Director Maria Friedman will recreate her critically celebrated West End production for Boston audiences. Performances will run September 8 - October 15, 2017 at the Avenue of the Arts / Huntington Avenue Theatre. Tickets are now on sale to the general public.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company announces a change in the casting of the LookOut Series Concert Reading of Standup Shakespeare. This event, which is a benefit concert reading for the theatre, will still feature the extraordinary talent of Steppenwolf co-founder Jeff Perry and Broadway legend Alice Ripley. Joining them will be Grammy and Clio Award-winning Opera singer Thomas Young, who was in the original Off-Broadway production directed by Mike Nichols and is featured on the Standup Shakespeare cabaret review album recorded in 1995.

Trumpet icon Herb Alpert and Grammy Award-winning vocalist/producer Lani Hall return to Cafe Carlyle, September 5-16.

Victoria Theatre Association's Premier Health Broadway Series will present Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, the under-the-sea spectacle swimming into the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center Aug. 8-13, 2017. Tickets for the timeless fairytale go on sale Wednesday, June 21.

Pittsburgh CLO has joined forces with Kansas City Starlight to produce a 21-week tour of Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, coming to the Benedum Center June 14-25.

The 71st Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 11th at 8/9c hosted by Kevin Spacey. It's the biggest award show of the Broadway season and it closes out a long awards season for Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and plays. The Mac-Haydn Theatre (MHT) opens their 49th season of musical theatre in-the-round with the Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber classic Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat like you have never seen it before! This will be the eighth-time Joseph...Dreamcoat has been seen on the MHT stage and the first since 2009.

Laguna Playhouse has announced that acclaimed actor Hal Linden (replacing the previously announced Bruce Davison) has been added to its very special theatrical event also starring Gregory Harrison, Dan Lauria, Charles Shaughnessy, French Stewart & Vanessa Stewart in TESLA: A RADIO PLAY FOR THE STAGE, written by Dan Duling and directed by Michael Arabian.

Steppenwolf's LookOut Series has announced their summer lineup, which will feature a three week run of the acclaimed solo play, How To Be A Rock Critic (Based on the Writings of Lester Bangs) by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, the award-winning writers of The Exonerated and Aftermath. The show will run July 6 - July 22 in Steppenwolf's 1700 Theatre (1700 N Halsted St); the press performance is Friday, July 7 at 8pm.
