Shepard's Pulitzer Prize-winning, contemporary classic drama examines a family with a secret that is clawing away at the souls of its members. When Vince, the grandson, arrives after an absence of several years, the secret threatens to spill forth and destroy everyone. Layered with postmodernist symbolism and sardonic humor, Buried Child won the 1979 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for its depiction of the crumbling of the American Dream.

A major work by one of contemporary theatre's most respected and celebrated writers; Time Magazine said, 'It may be his best.' Winner of the Obie Award for best play. The Village Voice called it, 'Epic, unpredictable and deliriously ironic'. Genesis West's production of this brilliant dark satire will be the Santa Barbara premier. The production will run through November 20, 2010 with performances Thursday through Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm at Center Stage Theater.
