Boise Contemporary Theater Presents AGES OF THE MOON July 28

Tickets are on sale now for a special performance event featuring two of the greatest talents in American theater and film: Sam Shepard and Scott Glenn. The event will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at the Egyptian Theatre to Benefit Boise Contemporary Theater. Doors will open at 6pm. The reading of AGES OF THE MOON starring Sam Shepard and Scott Glenn will begin at 7pm. Immediately following the reading there will be a Q & A with Sam Shepard and Scott Glenn on stage at the Egyptian. AGES OF THE MOON tells the story of Byron & Ames sitting on a front porch waiting to watch a total eclipse. They are old friends, re-united by mutual desperation. Over whiskey on a hot summer's night, they sit, reflect and bicker until fifty years of love, friendship and rivalry are put to the test.

Scott Glenn is a stage and screen actor who lives in Ketchum, Idaho. He played the title role in the New York Premiere of Killer Joe by Tracy Letts and played Pale in Lanford Wilson's Burn This on Broadway. In 1980 he was offered the role of John Travolta's rival in Urban Cowboy, which made him a star. Film credits include roles in Silverado, The Challenge, The Right Stuff, The River, Silence of the Lambs, The Hunt for Red October, The Shipping News, The Bourne Ultimatum, Secretariat and Sucker Punch.

Sam Shepard is a playwright and actor who received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1979 for his play Buried Child. In 2004 he appeared in the New York Premiere of Caryl Churchill's play A NumbeR. Shepard has appeared in more than 50 films and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of pilot Chuck Yeager in The Right Stuff (1983), which also starred Scott Glenn. His plays include Curse of the Starving Class, Fool for Love, and True West, which was produced by BCT in 2001. He is also the author of several books of short stories, essays, and memoirs.
