Based on the well-known board game distributed in North America by Parker Brothers (which was later folded into toy and game manufacturer Hasbro) that itself inspired a cult 1985 Paramount Pictures film of the same name written and directed by Jonathan Lynn, CLUE--the stage play--features the same infamous names and, yes, weapons and rooms synonymous with the classic whodunnit game. Writer Sandy Rustin, along with additional writers Hunter Foster and Eric Price, have revived the same colorful characters and personalities of the film and have transposed them into a madcap, 90-minute puzzle that's mostly silly and engagingly fun. The comedy's West Coast Premiere production continues at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts through October 17, 2021.

It's not always easy to relate personally to the storylines of classic operas—a prince is given a magic flute to protect him on a journey through a mythical land, a Roman diva must give herself to her captor or sentence her true love to death, a cursed clown's daughter sacrifices her own life to save her father.

The kooky Christmas show marks the pair's return to the boisterous characters, a boozy aging chanteuse, Kiki, and her loyal accompanist, Herb. In SLEIGH, traditions are turned upside down. Don't expect a Christmas revue. Many of the songs are Christmas-adjacent or Christmas-obscure, but they suit the myriad moods of the season remarkably well.

Ring in the New Year in Philadelphia with 36 top ways to celebrate, including dinner, drinks, happy hours, parties, DJ, music, family events, countdowns, brunches and so much more. Check it out all of the exciting options and start making your plans.
by Cindy Marcolina - Dec 11, 2021
When the air gets chillier and talks of Christmas plans begin to pop up in conversation, London starts swarming with every variation of A Christmas Carol known to man. From the Old Vic’s now iconic and classy version to Sh!tfaced Shakespeare’s bawdy and boozy one at Leicester Square Theatre, there’s a Carol for everyone. The Park is joining in the fun this year with another take on the Dickensian Victorian tale of greed and ghosts. Surprisingly, it’s unmistakably political. Alexander Knott’s Cratchit takes the novella’s poor, exploited worker and turns him into a hero for our times in a festive tour de force spearheaded by a terrific John Dalgliesh.
by Sarah Dussome - Dec 10, 2021
