B Street Theatre Extends THE LADIES FOURSOME Due To Popular Demand
by A.A. Cristi - Jul 17, 2018

At various festivals or special occasion, families often meet for special meals, gathering together members spanning several generations. Industry Editor Exclusive: THE STONE WITCH- Donations to a Non-Profit with a Commercial Upside
by Cara Joy David - Mar 30, 2018

Very rarely do you hear of new ways to invest in, or contribute to, the theater. Something surprised me recently however--on the website for the off-Broadway commercial production of THE STONE WITCH, you can make a tax deductible donation to the Berkshire Theatre Group (BTG) and have the money go to THE STONE WITCH. According to producers Laura Janik Cronin and Darlene Kaplan, the money goes not to increase BTG's share of the profits, but rather to keep the show afloat.

Sing Out! The 1960s At Carnegie Hall On Display In The Hall's Rose Museum Through 4/30
by A.A. Cristi - Mar 12, 2018

At the laying of Carnegie Hall's cornerstone in 1890, Andrew Carnegie said that "all good causes may here find a platform." At no time during Carnegie Hall's history were those words better represented than in the 1960s when voices were raised in protest, singing out to be heard. Throughout this pivotal decade, among the more than 3,600 events, was an extraordinary variety of benefits and tributes for social causes that used Carnegie Hall's stage as a platform from which to raise funds or awareness.

BWW Review: Seattle Rep's TWO TRAINS RUNNING Undercut with Quiet Strength
by Jay Irwin - Jan 18, 2018

The Seattle Rep, fortunately for all of us, has long held a special relationship with the works of August Wilson. They're one of the few theaters in the country to have done his entire Century Cycle sometimes premiering those plays as was the case with 'Two Trains Running' which they produced back in 1991 and have brought back to us this season. And as always, Wilson's plays still resonate and the Rep, this time in conjunction with Arena Stage, continues to present them with tons of honesty and heart.
