Cast members from Fiddler on the Roof will perform and sign CDS at the Barnes & Noble on the Upper East Side (150 East 86th Street) on Friday, March 18th at 4:30 p.m. in celebration of the New 2016 Broadway Cast Album being released worldwide that same day by Broadway Records, it was announced today.

  The producers of the Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof announce that ITZHAK PERLMAN, the reigning virtuoso of the violin, has recorded a special bonus track for the upcoming New Broadway Cast Album of Fiddler on the Roof.  PERLMAN has recorded 'Excerpts from Fiddler on the Roof' arranged by John Williams.

A Red Orchid Theatre Extends THE MUTILATED

?Due to popular demand, A Red Orchid Theatre has extended its critically-acclaimed production of Tennessee Williams' The Mutilated, directed by Ensemble Member Dado. The Mutilated will now run through March 13, 2016. The Mutilated features Ensemble Members Lance Baker, Jennifer Engstrom, Mierka Girten, Steve Haggard, Shade Murray, Doug Vickers and Natalie West with Ciera Dawn, Jennifer Glasse, Roy Gonzalez, Mario Hernandez, Morgan Maher, Lauren Vogel and Dominque Worsley. A Red Orchid Theatre is located at 1531 N Wells.

Big news for Fiddler fans! Broadway Records has just announced plans to release a New Broadway Cast Album of Fiddler on the Roof. It will have its worldwide release on March 18th and be available to purchase at The Broadway Theatre beginning March 8th.

The producers of the hit Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof announced this morning that the production will donate $2 from every full-price ticket purchased to the show for all February 2016 performances to The United Way of Genesee County's Flint Water Fund, which directly provides aid the Michigan city's residents, currently suffering from a critical drinking water contamination crisis.

Anita Darian, a soprano whose four-octave voice earned her the nickname “The Armenian Yma Sumac” and spawned an eclectic 50-year career that ranged from performances with the New York City Opera, Leonard Bernstein and the New York Philharmonic to big-band jazz concerts, co-starring roles with Barbara Cook, and hit pop recordings that included “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” is dead at 87. A longtime resident of East Atlantic Beach, L.I., she died Sunday, Feb. 1 at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside of complications from surgery.

Stable Cable Lab Co. has announced the cast and plays for the second annual LiveWire: An Evening of New Short Plays at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, 407 West 42nd Street, NYC on Sunday, January 25. Doors will open at 5:30pm for food and drinks and the performance will begin at 7pm. The evening will feature five world premieres of ten-minute plays by Nat Cassidy, Breanna Foister, Stephen Gracia, Collin McConnell, and Christopher Gabriel Nuñez, and will take you from the 1960s through the 2000s, with live music by YouTube sensation, Taylor Fererra. BroadwayWorld.com has exclusively learned that Sherlock Holmes may be headed to the stage in the coming Broadway seasons. Tony Award Nominated producer Antonio R. Marion (Big Fish, Evita) is said to be sheparding the project that is currently in the developmental stages. The production is set to be a brand new version of the beloved stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle that will be presented in the format of a play while a live orchestra underscores the drama and action.

Fiasco Theater's INTO THE WOODS Extends Through August at The Old Globe

The Old Globe today announced additional performances for the second production of the 2014 Summer Season, Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical Into the Woods, which made its World Premiere at The Old Globe in 1986. The production is an inventive reimagining by Fiasco Theater, directed by Noah Brody and Ben Steinfeld, in a production that originated at McCarter Theatre Center. By popular demand, it will now play through Sunday, August 17. Tickets for the extension will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, July 29 at noon.
