Today's the day! The 2017 Pulitzer Prize Winners and Nominated Finalists will be announced in just minutes- April 10 at 3pm eastern daylight time via live-stream on pulitzer.org.

It was just announced by Pulitzer Prize administrator Mike Pride that Lynn Nottage's SWEAT has officially won the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. 

The Henegar Center's 17th season will include something for everyone.  A mad, revengeful barber, a young orphan, some rockin' nuns, a trip to Vegas, and a romantic look at Madison County will grace the main stage of The Henegar Center.  Upstairs at the Henegar boasts all female leading ladies.  "It's the time of women and their empowerment," says Hank Rion, Artistic Director.  "Women are speaking out all over the country right now; we should hear their voice on stage, too."

Belmont Ave. Tickets for Little Me are $35. All tickets include access to the popular pre-performance event, Behind the Show Backstory, a multimedia presentation, created and hosted by Weber that discusses that evening's production including the show's creative history, backstage gossip and the state of the art on Broadway that season. Tony Award-winning actor Fritz Weaver, perhaps best known for his acclaimed performance as a German Jewish doctor killed by the Nazis in the 1978 mini-series HOLOCAUST, passed away on Saturday at his home in Manhattan. He was 90.

Sherlock Holmes relocates his flat on 'Baker Street' to 42nd Street Moon and the Eureka Theatre for an elementary musical adventure, now through November 20.

42nd Street Moon will launch its 24th season with the West Coast premiere of the newly revised 1965 musical Baker Street. This mysterious and enchanting trip to the world of Sherlock Holmes plays November 5-20 at the Eureka Theatre in San Francisco with previews November 2-4. Baker Street also marks the inaugural production under the new leadership of Executive Directors Daren A.C. Carollo and Daniel Thomas, following the retirement of Founding Artistic Director Gregory MacKellan. Over her storied career, Twyla Tharp has created over 160 dances across genres, choreographed for film (from Miloš Forman to James Brooks) and Broadway (with music ranging from Billy Joel to Bob Dylan). She's received a Tony Award, 19 honorary doctorates, a MacArthur Fellowship, among other honors (see below).

Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced a one-night only Benefit Concert Reading of Kiss Me, Kate by Sam and Bella Spewack with music and lyrics by Cole Porter, starring Kelli O'Hara and Will Chase.

Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, announces a one-week extension to Company, featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by George Furth. The production is directed by William Brown. Company features original orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick, Orchestral Reductions by Ian Weinberger, music direction by Tom Vendafreddo and choreography by Brock Clawson. The show, originally slated to run through July 31, 2016, will add an additional week, through August 7, in the Alexandra C. and John D. Nichols Theatre at 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe.

Part of the Pathways to Dance Upstate/Downstate initiative, Twyla Tharp and Three Dances will feature a company of long-time Tharp dancers along with new members.  John Selya, Matthew Dibble, Daniel Baker, Ramona Kelley, Amy Ruggiero, Eva Trapp, Nicholas Coppula, Kaitlyn Gilliland and Reed Tankersley make up the company. On the program are two Tharp classics, Brahms Paganini and Country Dances, and a new work, Beethoven Opus 130, set to Beethoven's Opus of the same title having its world premiere at Saratoga Performing Arts Center on June 30. This presentation, one of the must-see cultural events of the summer, marks the first time Tharp's company will perform on The Joyce's stage in almost 12 years. Producer Antonio R. Marion announced today that Tony nominee and Olivier Award-winner Daniel Evans will direct the Broadway-Bound epic new original stage play, Sherlock Holmes, by British writing team of Rachel Wagstaff and Duncan Abel. The project was originally announced in late 2014.
