Playhouse Producing Artistic Director Chuck Tobin today announced the June 20 opening of Saint Michael's Playhouse for the company's 70th season of live professional theater with a line-up of shows that include area premieres and a Pulitzer-prize winning American comedy classic, all part of what Yankee Magazine hails as "The Best of New England." 

MTI Acquires Licensing Rights to My Fair Lady, Brigadoon, Camelot, Paint Your Wagon, and The Day Before Spring

Drew Cohen, President of Music Theatre International (MTI), announced today that MTI will represent the secondary stage performance rights to five musicals by the legendary writing team of Lerner & Loewe, including their masterpiece My Fair Lady, the beloved classics Camelot, Brigadoon and Paint Your Wagon, and their newly-restored early work, The Day Before Spring.   MTI, from June 1, will begin representing My Fair Lady in the US, the UK, and all English-language territories, and will represent the four other titles on a worldwide basis. (Some restrictions may apply).

Albert, concludes the 2016-2017 Season with the Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy Harvey by Mary Chase, directed by Devon De Mayo. Harvey runs May 11 - June 11, 2017 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Avenue in Chicago. The Press Opening is Saturday, May 20 at 8:00 p.m.

On Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 7:30pm, Skylark Vocal Ensemble and the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF) present Clear Voices in the Dark, an immersive concert interspersing songs from the American Civil War with Francis Poulenc's challenging and rarely performed Figure Humaine, at Florence Gould Hall (55 E. 59th St.). Formed in 2011 by Artistic Director Matthew Guard, Skylark is a premiere a cappella vocal ensemble of leading American vocal soloists based in Atlanta and Boston. Skylark's music has been described as "sublimely beautiful" (Opera Obsession), and the group's lustrous voices have been praised for their ability to "sway you softly into calm and then all but throw you across the room with sheer harmonic force" ("Music for Writers," Thought Catalog).
