Queen's Harbour resident Carly Juliana Barnes is cast as the lead in the Alhambra Theatre & Dining's upcoming production of Annie, set to open June 28, 2017.  Selected from an open casting call of more than 110 girls, Carly is one of two talented young leading ladies that perform as Annie.  She is joined by Jena Simmons of Jupiter (FL).  A much-celebrated Broadway musical, Annie continues the Alhambra's 50th Anniversary Season. For the fourth consecutive season the Alhambra's summer family show is sponsored by Snyder Heating & Air Conditioning of Jacksonville (FL).

Dance Umbrella has announced the programme for its 2017 festival. London's flagship festival of international dance will take place from 11 - 28 October 2017. Tickets are on sale today!

Elaine Paige (Queen Rat), Ashley Banjo and Diversity (The Sultan and his Entourage), Gary Wilmott (Sarah the Cook) and Charlie Stemp (Dick Whittington) will join the previously announced Julian Clary (Spirit of the Bells), Paul Zerdin (Idle Jack) and Nigel Havers (Captain Nigel) in the line-up for Qdos Entertainment's London Palladium production of Dick Whittington.

Miranda Hart plays Miss Hannigan with Alex Bourne as Daddy Warbucks, Holly Dale Spencer as Grace Farrell, Jonny Fines as Rooster and Djalenga Scott as Lily in the West End production of Annie at the Piccadilly Theatre. The title role of Annie is shared by Madeleine Haynes, 13-years old from Hadley Wood, Barnet, Lola Moxom, 12-years old from Rochester, Kent and Ruby Stokes, 12-years old from Hampshire. The 71st Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 11th at 8/9c hosted by Kevin Spacey. New York City Opera's 2017/2018 season will offer four new mainstage productions at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Theater, including a Spanish-language opera as part of its Ópera en Español series. City Opera will also offer two New York City Opera Concerts in Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall and a chamber opera series at locations to be announced. New York City Opera Orchestra will be featured in every opera.

Everyone's favorite TV family will be singing and dancing their way across the stage this summer when Happy Days - The Musical opens at The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre, the area's only year-round producing theatre.

BroadwayWorld has learned that Peter Scolari will join The Muny's A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum as Pseudolus. Forum is the the third production of its 99th season, which plays July 5-11.

Rose Theatre Kingston today announces its autumn 2017 and spring 2018 season.

Theatre Royal Bath Productions, Cambridge Arts Theatre and Rose Theatre Kingston are delighted to announce Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing will embark on a limited UK Tour from September, starring Laurence Fox and directed byStephen Unwin. The production will open on Wednesday 6 September in Cambridge before touring to Bath and Kingston, with national press night on Wednesday 27 September at Theatre Royal Bath. Further tour dates to be announced.

The Huntington Theatre Company will present the uproarious comedy Ripcord by Pulitzer Prize winner and Boston native David Lindsay-Abaire (Good People, Rabbit Hole) and directed by Jessica Stone (Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike). Performances begin Friday, May 26 at the South End / Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA. 

The 50th season of The Negro Ensemble Company, a year-long retrospective of some of the troupe's signature works, continues May 24 to June 10 at Theatre 80 St. Marks with 'Daughters of the Mock' by Judi Ann Mason.

Initial casting is announced today (20 April 2017) for Qdos Entertainment's London Palladium production of Dick Whittington.  Following the success of Cinderella last year, the production will see the return of Julian Clary who will play Spirit of the Bells, Paul Zerdin as Idle Jack and Nigel Havers as Captain Nigel.  Further casting and creative team will be announced shortly.

Richard Lederer returns to North Coast Repertory Theatre for a night of Shakespeare, with guest appearance by David Ellenstein!  2016 marked the 400th year since William Shakespeare's death, but Union-Tribune language columnist Richard Lederer will demonstrate through excerpts from the Bard's plays and sonnets that Shakespeare is alive and well and living robustly in San Diego.  Special guest David Ellenstein will introduce Lederer and perform two Shakespeare monologues to help illustrate the brilliance of the great dramatist.

The 2017-18 Signature Theatre Season will feature plays by three Pulitzer Prize-winners and the New York premiere of a play by one of its new Residency Five playwrights, the company announced today.

The Muny announced today 21 principal cast members for its 99th season. Full company casting will be announced throughout April. The 2017 Muny season opens with Jesus Christ Superstar followed by Disney's The Little Mermaid and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. The season continues with the premiere of All Shook Up! and a newly re- envisioned The Unsinkable Molly Brown. Season 99 closes with A Chorus Line and the much- anticipated Muny debut of Newsies.

Following the enormously successful opening of James Macdonald's new production of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? starring Imelda Staunton, Conleth Hill, Imogen Poots and Luke Treadaway, producers today announced the forthcoming live broadcast of the play to cinemas throughout the UK and beyond as part of National Theatre Live.
