The Film Society of Lincoln Center is devoted to supporting the art and elevating the craft of cinema. The only branch of the world-renowned arts complex Lincoln Center to shine a light on the everlasting yet evolving importance of the moving image, this nonprofit organization was founded in 1969 to celebrate American and international film. Via year-round programming and discussions; its annual New York Film Festival; and its publications, including Film Comment, the U.S.'s premier magazine about films and film culture, the Film Society endeavors to make the discussion and appreciation of cinema accessible to a broader audience, as well as to ensure that it will remain an essential art form for years to come.

Porchlight Music Theatre made its debut at The Arts Club of Chicago, 201 E. Ontario Street, with its hit musical revue series, New Faces Sing Broadway 1959, hosted by Gene Weygandt, directed by Adrian Abel Azevedo with music direction by David Fiorello, Tuesday, February 27.

Elaine Paige and Alexandra Burke announced on their Twitters that they will be teaming up to announce the 2018 Olivier nominations on Tuesday, March 6. The announcement will be made live on Facebook at 1pm.

Legendary ballet costume designer HOLLY HYNES and costume and scenic designer ZACK BROWN are among the 2018 TDF/Irene Sharaff Award recipients which were just announced by TDF, the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts. Ms. Hynes was selected to receive the 2018 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design and Mr. Brown will receive the Robert L. B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design. The awards are presented through TDF's Costume Collection. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, April 20, at 6:30pm, at the Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street).

Australian Director Gary Young has reinterpreted MAMMA MIA! for Australian audiences, delivering a fresh new take on the work, 19 years after it debuted on the West End.

HartBeat Ensemble kicks off the New Year with the regional premiere of A Hunger Artist, adapted from Franz Kafka's short story by the award winning theater company SinkingShip Productions, based in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Newsome, have announced, today, the cast and creative team for the Off-Broadway premiere of The Stone Witch, a play by Shem Bitterman (A Death in Colombia, Influence). Opening Night is set for Sunday evening, March 25, 2018 at 6:30PM.

St. Ann's Warehouse presents the American Premiere of Schaub hne Berlin's Returning to Reims, an adaptation of French author Didier Eribon's memoir of the same name, directed by Berlin auteur Thomas Ostermeier, February 4-25. This production marks the first collaboration between St. Ann's and the Schaub hne, whose production of Richard III recently garnered acclaim in BAM's Next Wave Festival.

Compass Players, in an act of remarkable prescience, has resurrected Gore Vidal's THE BEST MAN, revealing that the more things political change, the more they remain the same. Directed by Jeanna Michaels, Steve Murphy and Matthew Cary deliver solid performances as two candidates in the political dogfight of their lives. Running through January 28th in the McMillin Theater at Peoria Center for the Performing Arts.

Peter Groom is an actor, dancer and choreographer, originally from Newcastle. Since graduating from Guildford School of Acting in 2013 he has gone on to work both in the UK and internationally, with credits including Schaubuhne, Berlin and Aquilla Theatre, New York. Alongside this he began to create his own devised work, and then in 2016 started working as a drag performer, with performances at Battersea Arts Centre, The Glory and Royal Vauxhall Tavern. His new show Dietrich: Natural Duty has its world premiere at the VAULT Festival later this month. I had the pleasure of meeting up with Peter. We talked about inspirations, politics, queer history, visibility and so much more. Here's how it went.
