Definition Theatre Company opens its 2018-2019 season with No Child… by Nilaja Sun and directed by Chika Ike. No Child... will run from August 31 - September 23, 2018, with a press opening on Wednesday, September 5 at 7:30pm.

CSO Music Director Rossen Milanov and the Columbus Symphony open the 2018-19 Masterworks season with a concert inspired by the 1940 Disney classic, Fantasia. Bach's majestic music, as seen through the eyes of legendary conductor Stokowski, and Wagner's terrifying "Ride of the Valkyries" are paired with the rich orchestral palettes of Dukas' The Sorcerer's Apprentice and Strauss' iconic Also Sprach Zarathustra, made famous by the film 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Full casting has been announced for the touring production of the new musical COME FROM AWAY, coming to the SHN Golden Gate Theatre from January 8 to February 3, 2019 as part of the 2018-2019 SHN Season.

MTV today announced that global superstar Jennifer Lopez will receive the "Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award" at the 2018 MTV "VMAs." She is also set to perform live at this year's show for the first time since 2001 and is nominated for two "VMAs" for her most recent single, "Dinero." With a legacy that spawns over two decades, Lopez is one of the most iconic and influential multi-hyphenates across music, film, television, fashion, business and philanthropy.Lopez joins a prestigious list of past Vanguard recipients that includes Michael Jackson, Madonna, Guns N' Roses, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, BEYONCÉ, Kanye West, Rihanna and P!nk.

Full casting has been announced for the touring production of the new musical Come From Away. The 5th Avenue Theatre kicks off its 2018-19 season with the launch of Come From Away's North American tour, playing October 9 - November 4, 2018. PROTOTYPE: Opera/Theatre/Now is pleased to announce programming for the seventh annual festival of fresh opera-theatre & music-theatre running January 5-13, 2019, featuring eight presentations that "shift the whole paradigm of what opera is and can be" (New York Observer).

The 2018 Toronto Fringe Festival boasts the highest ever ticket revenue, smashing the new records set during the 2017 festival. 66,301 tickets were issued to theatre-loving patrons over the 12-day festival. As Fringe returns 100% of net box office revenue, this means that $531,293.50 is going straight into the pockets of the artists. Ticket prices were raised this year from $10 + services fees to $11 + service fees, which contributed to the increase in revenue.

The 2018 Helpmann Awards Act II tonight was a star-studded ceremony in front of a full house at the Capitol Theatre Sydney on the set of Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical. Interrobang Theatre Project is pleased to announce its ninth season, featuring three knockout dramas presented at its new resident home, Rivendell Theatre, 5779 N. Christine Lahti is headed to New York to star as Gloria Steinem in the world premiere of Gloria: A Life, a new play about Ms. Steinem as a symbol of past, present and future change. The play, written by Tony Award-nominee Emily Mann (Having Our Say), is directed by the visionary Tony Award-winning Diane Paulus (Waitress, Pippin).

Pittsburgh CLO's THE FULL MONTY will take it all off at the Benedum Center this summer July 6 - 15. With a book written by Terrence McNally (Ragtime) and the music/ lyric talents of David Yazbek (The Band's Visit, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Women On The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown), this duo cooks up an aggressive crowd-pleaser that is both highly-entertaining and charmingly uplifting.

When the stage directions in a script indicate 'to kiss' any good actor knows it will be 'stage kiss.' That is, kind of awkward at first attempt in the rehearsal hall, but hopefully with practice becomes convincing enough to the audience without the actors actually becoming emotionally involved with each other during the run of the play. That's alot of information to digest for an action that merely calls for two people playing their lips on each other's . Briefly stated, that is the underlying premise in the Shaw Festival's delightful romp, STAGE KISS playing at the Royal George Theatre.

St. Ann's Warehouse will present the U.S. Premiere of The Jungle, the immensely acclaimed Good Chance Theatre co-production with the National Theatre and Young Vic. Currently opening a five-month run at London's Playhouse Theatre on the West End, The Jungle comes to St. Ann's beginning December 4, 2018.

Birdland Jazz Club will present New York, Old Friend-The Songs of Ken Laub, a celebration of the sights, scenes and relationships in New York City, for one night only as part of the "Broadway at Birdland" concert series, on Monday, June 25, 2018 @7pm.

Book-It Repertory Theatre will open its 2018-2019 season with Jane Eyre. Called the 'first historian of the private consciousness', author Charlotte Bronte explores classism, sexuality, and female expression in this Gothic mystery. Julie Beckman adapted and directed Jane Eyre for Book-It in 2001 and will direct the 2018 production.
