The Seacoast Repertory Theatre's production of A Chorus Line represents a full circle in the career of its director, Bryan Knowlton. He has gone from unsuccessfully auditioning for a role in the musical as a youth to performing in its Broadway revival. Now he returns to Portsmouth two decades later to direct a production of the story which often mirrors his life. 

Artistic Director, Hunter Foster has announced Redhouse Arts Center's 2020-21 Main Stage Season featuring several Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning productions that are sure to delight audiences of all ages. With every production this season, Redhouse will utilize its versatile theatre space to treat audiences to a thrilling theatre experience. 'We found our audiences really loved the intimacy of our productions, as they did with our musical, Rent', stated Foster. 'Having the actors so close to the audience really elevated the story's emotional level. No other theatre in Central New York gives such an immersive experience to an audience the way Redhouse can, and we want to continue experimenting with our spaces for the 20/21 season', he concluded. Building on this year's success, Redhouse will offer five Main Stage shows with some productions offering an extended three week run.

Glasgow International has announced details of its ninth edition, the second of Director Richard Parry. Comprising 54 exhibitions and 82 events, performances and talks at over 50 spaces across the city and showcasing work by 160 artists; the theme of the 2020 festival is Attention: asking us to consider how, where and in whom our attention is placed at a time of seemingly constant distraction. Theatr Clwyd today announces its Writers in Residence and Companies in Residence for 2020, as part of the TYFU|GROW Creative Development Programme. Writers' residencies have been awarded to Hannah Daniel, Katie Elin-Salt, Jennifer Lunn, Wyn Mason, Lisa Parry, and Kristian Phillips. From 1989 to 2001, a criminal mastermind named “Uncle Jerry” defrauded the hugely popular McDonald's Monopoly promotional game of millions of dollars in prize money. By stealing valuable game pieces from McDonald's, Jerry was able to hand-select winners, hoodwink the authorities and share the ill-gotten gains. The deception, which started among family and friends, soon expanded to include a cast of shifty ex-cons with ties to the mafia and unsuspecting co-conspirators. 

Musical legends Mariah Carey, Annie Lennox / Dave Stewart p/k/a Eurythmics, Ernie Isley / Marvin Isley / O'Kelly Isley / Ronald Isley / Rudolph Isley / Chris Jasper p/k/a The Isley Brothers, Steve Miller, Chad Hugo / Pharrell Williams p/k/a The Neptunes, Rick Nowels and William “Mickey” Stevenson will become the latest inductees of the Songwriters Hall of Fame at the organization's 51st Annual Induction and Awards Dinner. These legendary songwriters wrote mega-hits such as, 'Vision of Love,”  “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This),” “Shout,” “The Joker,” “Hollaback Girl,” “Heaven is a Place on Earth,” and “Dancing In The Street.” The star-studded induction event is slated for Thursday, June 11th at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
