Kean Stage will kick off its 2018/19 season with two performances by Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth, best known for her star turns on Broadway in Chicago and Sweet Charity, as well as her memorable role as Lilith Sternin Crane on the television series Cheers. Neuwirth's show,Stories with Piano, will be performed at Enlow Recital Hall on Saturday, September 15, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, September 16, at 3 p.m. 

Casting is announced today for Music Theatre Wichita's 47th Season, which includes including Sister Act, Guys and Dolls, Disney's Freaky Friday, Pippin, and Disney's The Little Mermaid.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that following on the heels of NBC's critically acclaimed rock musical 'Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert' comes the true original rock musical, 'Hair Live!,' which will be broadcast in the spring of 2019 in front of a live audience. 

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will pay homage to the glittering world of Hollywood musicals with Mad About Musicals!, a special month of programming celebrating timeless movie musicals such as The Wizard of Oz, Singin' in the Rain and Cabaret. TCM is once again partnering with Ball State University and Canvas to offer a free online multimedia course tied to this programming special about the history of the musical genre and its evolution with cultural and technological shifts. Enrollment is open until June 17 and fans can sign up for the course at musicals.tcm.com.

DENVER- The American Library Association (ALA) today announced the top books, video and audio books for children and young adults-including the Caldecott, Coretta Scott King, Newbery and Printz awards-at its Midwinter Meeting in Denver, Colorado.

During their John Guare Festival and the World Premiere of Guare's epic Lydie Breeze Trilogy, EgoPo Classic Theater is collaborating with Drexel University's Performing Arts Department for an evening symposium, Future of American Playwriting, Saturday, February 3 at 4 p.m. The panel will feature John Guare and local playwrights Jacqueline Goldfinger, Bruce Graham, and James Ijames. The panel is moderated by Broad Street Review Editor in Chief Wendy Rosenfield. The symposium will be held in the Stein Auditorium in Nesbitt Hall at Drexel University, 3215 Market Street. Grease is the word! The hit 70s musical returns in 2017 for a UK tour, opening in Manchester on 10 March 2017. Casting for the tour includes Tom Parker (The Wanted) who makes his musical theatre debut playing Danny Zuko, Danielle Hope (Over the Rainbow winner) who plays Sandy, and Louisa Lytton (Strictly Come Dancing, EastEnders) who plays Rizzo.
