It's time for musical lovers to rejoice! Slow Burn Theatre Company and the Broward Center for the Performing Arts has announced that single tickets are now on sale for the 2022/2023 season presented by American National Bank.

Released on CD and digital earlier this year, the record consists of performances newly mixed by Emmy-nominated producer/engineer Brian Risner from the original multi-track tapes recorded by Dan Healy (Grateful Dead) in 1992 at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. At their last meeting of the season, the Board of Directors of the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts elected Sherry Barrat as Board Chair starting July 1. Ms. Barrat succeeds Jeffrey Stoops, who served as Board Chairman for the past three years.

Kevin McKenzie today announced his retirement as Artistic Director of American Ballet Theatre at the end of 2022, following three decades of leadership. He will oversee ABT’s creation of new works and performances throughout 2021 and 2022, ensuring ABT’s vitality and artistic integrity, while working with the Board of Governing Trustees to provide a seamless transition to the Company’s next Artistic Director.

The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!

The Board of Trustees of the Museum of Russian Icons has announced the death of founder Gordon B. Lankton. After opening a branch of his plastics manufacturing company in Moscow in 1992, he came to appreciate Russian culture, particularly the icon, the emblematic sacred art form stemming from the Byzantine traditions of the Russian Orthodox Christian faith.
