Coming in February, The City Theatre Company proudly presents the acclaimed stage classic Our Town, Thornton Wilder's great American play about family, community, and the value of life's most precious moments. Written in 1938, this moving portrait of small-town life won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and, with so much relevance, is still being produced in theatres today. It plays February 14 thru March 3 in an exciting original production at Picturebox Studios.

UHM's Theatre And Dance Association Presents WAR OF THE WORLD- A Staged Reading

UHM's Theatre and Dance Association is proud to present a staged reading of War of the Worlds: The 1938 Radio Script, by Howard E. Koch, based on the 1897 science fiction novel by H.G. Wells. This radio play about a cataclysmic invasion of aliens from Mars, which became known for the confusion and panic it caused when it initially aired on October 30, 1938, arrives at the Kennedy Theatre Main Stage in time for Halloween. It also arrives during a year when, particularly after the January 13th false missile alert, who we trust for information and how we respond to fear are eerily relevant questions. The staged reading, produced by UHM Theatre and Dance Department students, runs at 7:30pm on October 26 and 27, and on October 30, the 80th anniversary of the original broadcast.

People's Light kicks off its 2018/2019 Season with Such Things as Vampires, a highly theatrical folk-punk twist on the Dracula tale. Infused with lilting ballads, rock anthems, and melodious love songs, this concert-theatre event is an irreverent, bloody, and wickedly fun retelling of Bram Stoker's 1897 gothic masterpiece. Such Things as Vampires runs September 20 - October 31 on the Steinbright Stage in Malvern. Tickets range from $30-$50.

For the past several summers, I have attended the Festival of Arts and The Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach. But this year, I also decided to also visit two other art festivals along Laguna Canyon Road rather than spend any time cruising the town as I had done before. The full-day of exploring all the artistic delights on display this year at all three locations left me dazzled by all the talent on display, while wishing I had lot of extra income to purchase and bring home many of the awe-inspiring items that caught my fancy. But the real highlight of the day was viewing the abundance of 'local color' on display in this summer's 'Under the Sun' themed Pageant of the Masters.

Beck Center Dance Presents THE FAIRY DOLL
