A Perfect Peace tells the powerful story of Yoni, a disillusioned young war hero in 1960’s Israel. Consumed with dreams of romance and adventure in the outside world, he feels trapped by the limitations of communal life on a kibbutz and conflicts with his wife. When Yoni experiments with his fantasies, he discovers dark truths about himself and finds that the path to his perfect peace is elusive and widely different from the one he set out to explore.

Kentucky Opera announces its 23/24 season. All four operas will be sung in English, with performances in The Brown Theatre and the Opera Center. Appearing on the Kentucky Opera stage for the first time since 2010 is Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel. An opera filled with curiosity and adventure follows two young children in their quest to save themselves and the gingerbread children from the wicked witch.
