17 year old rising star Alfie Templeman's riotous new single “Forever Isn't Long Enough” is out now on Chess Club Records. The record premiered exclusively on Monday 28 September as Annie Mac's “Hottest Record In The World” on BBC Radio 1 - Templeman's third consecutive Hottest Record. “Forever Isn't Long Enough” is the first single from Alfie Templeman since the release of stellar EP Happiness In Liquid Form in July this year. This month Templeman also features Dork Magazine's new cover star.

PlayGround has announced the winners of this year's Young Playwrights Contest. The venerated playwright incubator will debut the four selected short plays by Bay Area teen playwrights, performed live online by professional actors, June 12th at 8PM PT as part of its innovative PlayGround Zoom Fest.

And just like all of us, I wondered how they are dealing with the abrupt end of productions in which they were involved. Blue Engine Records, Jazz at Lincoln Center's in-house recording label, will release a present-day recording of Duke Ellington's groundbreaking masterpiece Black, Brown and Beige by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. Captured during a live, Rose Theater performance in 2018, Black, Brown and Beige is Wynton Marsalis's first recording of the work and Blue Engine's first release dedicated entirely to Ellington. Black, Brown and Beige will be available exclusively on all digital platforms on March 6, 2020.

The NY Kwanzaa Film Festival winner for Best Feature, 'Soul Doctor' will be screened at the Walton Theater (100 Selma Avenue) in Selma, Alabama on Sunday, March 1st at 4:30pm to celebrate Black History Monthand The Selma Bridge Crossing Jubilee, commemorating 'Bloody Sunday,' when a group of about 525 African American demonstrators gathered at Browns Chapel to demand the right to vote.An event that led to the famous Selma Marches led by the late Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. which was a turning point in public support for the Civil Rights movement.

Just like in the game of Chess it is a big move to give this musical another try due to its uneven track record on stage. In this brand new production of CHESS many of the chess pieces finally falls into place, A lot of it due to of a simplified plot which is character driven and where the music is in the center of attention.

In the Wings Promotions (ITW) is proud to announce a new concert series called THE LIVING ROOM SESSIONS, starring Noelle Hannibal and featuring Musical Direction by META nominee Ian Baird. Noelle and Ian love music. Known in Montreal for their top notch musical theatre productions, this special concert series will explore songs from a variety of genres. The upcoming LOVE EDITION will feature songs of love and heartbreak, just in time for Valentine's Day. 

As BroadwayWorld previously announced, a production of Chess is headed to Osaka's Umeda Arts Theater, starring Ramin Karimloo and Samantha Barks! Directed by Nick Winston, the production will run on January 27, 2020. The cast also features Luke Walsh, and Takanori Sato. 11th Hour Theatre Company Presents CHESS THE MUSICAL. Music by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA, lyrics by Tim Rice (Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Lion King, Aida), and book by Richard Nelson. The concert is directed by 11th Hour co-founder and producing Artistic Director, Michael Philip O'Brien, with music direction by Madison Auch. This riveting rock musical event will perform January 11th-19th at Christ Church Neighborhood House, and will feature seven professional actors alongside an ensemble of eight Temple University students.
