It's November 1998 on the World's End Estate in Chelsea. Theatre for a New Audience founding artistic director Jeffrey Horowitz, having just received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2019 OBIEs, today announces TFANA's 40th anniversary season. The 2019-2020 programming exemplifies what makes TFANA, in the words of the OBIE committee, one of the city's most vital institutions championing adventurous and urgent productions of Shakespeare alongside other writers.

This July, Carnegie Hall will bring together more than 200 of the finest teen musicians from across the country to perform as part of its three acclaimed national youth ensembles: the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA), NYO2, and NYO Jazz. All three ensembles will take part in an intensive training residency at Purchase College, SUNY before performing at Carnegie Hall and embarking on tours across the country and around the world, serving as America's dynamic musical ambassadors. In total, 222 musicians will take part in this year's program, representing 39 US states plus Puerto Rico.

Charlotte Braenna played Lucille Frank in the Scandinavian Premiere production of Jason Robert Brown's PARADE, just out of school. She has since starred in many musicals such as Kathy Selden in SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, Mother in BILLY ELLIOT and MARY POPPINS at Folketeatret. Recently she played Sandy in GREASE at Chateau Neuf. Currently she is playing Meg Giry in the premiere production of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.

Raven Theatre announces its 2019-20 Season, kicking off this fall with the Chicago premiere of Rachel Bonds' drama SUNDOWN, YELLOW MOON, directed by Artistic Director Cody Estle and featuring music and lyrics by The Bengsons. Herbert Blomstedt will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct Grieg's Piano Concerto with Jean-Yves Thibaudet as soloist; Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite No. 1; and Dvo k's Symphony No. 8, Thursday, February 28, 2019, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, March 1 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, March 2 at 8:00 p.m.

Today's subject Matthew Bourne has done what some might say is impossible, making his theatre life quite the big deal. Bourne has managed to meld the worlds of classical dance and theatre together in his internationally acclaimed company New Adventures with some pretty terrific results. His latest creation, Cinderella, hits the stage of the Opera House at Kennedy Center on January 15 playing through the 20th.

Shakespeare's Globe has announced casting for the Winter Season 2018, its plans for a year-long cycle of history plays from February 2019, and Globe Associates, to include Sean Holmes, who is to become Associate Artistic Director.
