Gary Schweikhart, board president of the Carbonell Awards, South Florida's most highly coveted recognition of theatrical and performance excellence, today announced that Elizabeth Dashiell has joined the nonprofit organization as Carbonell Coordinator for the 2023-2024 season.

Dallas Black Dance Theatre's (DBDT) annual fundraising event, The BIG Dance, will showcase a fusion of Latin and Afro-Latin cultures. Robert Patrick, aka Robert Patrick O'Connor, writer of poems, lyrics, short stories, novels, and a pioneering playwright known for his contributions to Off-Off Broadway and the Caffe Cino has passed away at the age of 85. He died in his sleep at his home in Los Angeles on April 23, 2023 (407 years to the day after Shakespeare's death).
