BroadwayWorld has learned today the complete cast, design and production team for Guys and Dolls, the first show of its second century, June 10 - 16.

As I sit down to write this review, I still have tears swelling in my eyes just thinking about my experience with this show. No matter how you cut it, Godspell is an incredibly powerful and moving piece of theatre. Based primarily on the Christian mythology of the Gospel according to St. Matthew, this story follows a group of lively characters as they act out the many parables that Jesus teaches them throughout their time together...

What good is sitting alone in your room this week? If you don't already have plans to see a Broadway show, come out to see your favorite Broadway stars in a cabaret act instead. Highlights this week include: Lindsay Mendez, Sondheim Unplugged, former Broadway kids, and a benefit concert for victims of Hurricane Michael.

The New York Pops announces the appointment of Broadway star Capathia Jenkins to its Board of Directors. Capathia has previously appeared as a soloist with The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall on multiple occasions, including during the orchestra's R&B celebration in February 2018.

A CELEBRATION of Academy Award-winning songs is set to hit the right note for Limelight Theatre's last season of the year.

'Orphaned Songs for Orphaned Starfish' - a concert of composer Stephen Schwartz (Monday, November 19 at The Cutting Room), was an evening of unsung/cut songs from Wicked, Pippin, Working, and Children of Eden along with a new duet from the stage production of The Prince of Egypt. The concert also included some favorites from The Bakers Wife, Magic Show, Pippin, Pocahontas, Wicked and his opera Seance On a Wet Afternoon. The benefit evening for The Orphaned Starfish Foundation raised over $60,000.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced the selection of four Honorees who will receive the 2018 Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime artistic achievements, and a special Honors distinction for a work of art and its co-creators. Recipients to be honored at the 41st annual national celebration of the arts are: singer and actress Cher, composer and pianist Philip Glass, Country music entertainer Reba McEntire, and jazz saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter. This year, the co-creators of Hamilton-writer and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, director Thomas Kail, choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler, and music director Alex Lacamoire-will receive a unique Kennedy Center Honors as trailblazing creators of a transformative work that defies category.

Two actors. Five plays. One sexy night. Chiara Alik's smart comedy, Five Times In One Night, runs at Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater June 27 to July 20. Ken Davenport and Kurt Deutsch announced today that they have optioned the musical rights to the characters from the hit film franchise Vacation by special arrangement with Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures to develop a new musical Broadway Vacation.

According to Deadline, an untitled musical project based on the life and works of Hans Christian Andersen was just picked up by Fox 2000. Featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a script by David Magee, the 'four quadrant epic musical fantasy' will be produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.

Josh Bergasse and Dave Clemmons will join the award-winning musical theater faculty at Texas State University to conduct master classes for Nexus, a two-week intensive college prep summer camp designed for high school students.

A cast of 18 students from nine high schools in three counties opened GODSPELL at the Croswell Opera House on Jan. 27. The show, which takes the 1970s musical and updates it with modern references and settings, is directed by Michael Yuen, a local educator who played John the Baptist and Judas in the 2000-2001 national tour of the show. According to Yuen, updating the show to the time in which it is being performed is in step with how the authors meant for it to evolve.
