Grease has been a part of the American musical theater vernacular for so long - it opened in Chicago some 47 years ago in the halcyon days of 1971 - that it's easy to overlook the show's impact on theater, in general, and audiences, in particular. Its multiple revivals on Broadway, in regional theater and in various community theater and high school drama settings probably makes you believe you've seen in far more often than you actually have (unless, of course, you watch the film treatment with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John over and over).

Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts and Deaf West Theatre (DWT), the performing arts organizations behind the Tony Award-nominated and Ovation Award-winning revival of Spring Awakening, reunite to bring multiple Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Edward Albee's At Home at the Zoo to life in an innovative and new production. Edward Albee's At Home at the Zoo begins previews on March 7 and will open in the Lovelace Studio Theater at The Wallis on Friday, March 10. Theatre at the Center, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, Indiana, one of Chicagoland's leading regional theatres, announces today that as of January 1, William Pullinsi will step down after over a decade as Artistic Director to dedicate his time to pursuing other opportunities while remaining Artistic Director Emeritus. Jeff Award-winner Linda Fortunato will assume the role of Artistic Director. During Pullinsi's time at Theatre at the Center he brought to the stage World Premiere musicals including Knute Rockne, All American and The Beverly Hillbillies; and Regional and Chicago Premieres including Ring of Fire, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, A Christmas Memory, Making God Laugh, Miracle on South Division Street, Fox on the Fairway, Do I Hear a Waltz, Leading Ladies, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, What a Glorious Feeling and Nice Work if You Can Get It (which he will be directing during TATC's 2016 season).

Museum of the Moving Image Honors Masaki Kobayashi & Tatsuya Nakadai Films, Now thru 5/24

The great Japanese director Masaki Kobayashi (1916-1996), best known for his passionate, socially committed films in the post-World War II era, and actor Tatsuya Nakadai (b. 1932) worked together on nine notable films, chief among them the epic anti-war drama The Human Condition (1959-1961). From May 15 through 24, 2015, Museum of the Moving Image will present all nine of these films-all in 35mm-in the series Portraying the Human Condition: The Films of Masaki Kobayashi and Tatsuya Nakadai to honor this remarkable screen partnership. Nakadai, in his third annual appearance at the Museum, will participate in discussions with screenings of The Human Condition Part I (May 16) and the Cannes prize-winning samurai revenge tale Harakiri (May 24).
