Just four years after celebrating victory in World War II as the only nation with an atomic bomb, Americans now found themselves confronting the probability of an atomic war.

The more things change - the more they stay the same. L.A.'s Latino Theater Company explores the political and cultural climate in 2020 with an eclectic season of productions that looks back at our history and ahead to our future: revivals that reflect the company's past work and the tumultuous fight for Chicano civil rights; contemporary work that explores today's issues; and unique offerings by two guest artists from Spain. In addition, the company will present two free film series, the company's annual free play reading series, and, in December, for the 18th consecutive year, the beloved site-specific holiday pageant La Virgen de Guadalupe, Dios Inantzin at L.A.'s Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. All performances and screenings, except La Virgen, take place at The Los Angeles Theatre Center, a five-theater complex located in a landmark building in Downtown's Historic Core.

Academy Award(R) winning actor and environmental activist Leonardo DiCaprio will present the SAG Life Achievement Award to two-time Oscar(R)-winning actor, producer and director Robert De Niro during the 26th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards(R), the producers announced today. Accepting SAG-AFTRA's highest accolade from his co-star in several films, including This Boy's Life, will be a special moment at the ceremony, which will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.

William F. Brown, the Tony-nominated American writer who is best known for his libretto to the long-running Broadway musical The Wiz, died on June 23 in Westport, CT, according to his longtime wife and collaborator, Tina Tippit. He was 91.

McCarter will welcome a group of esteemed and emerging playwrights and theater artists to Princeton for the Sallie B. Goodman Artists' Retreat. The annual retreat in June is a centerpiece of McCarter's LAB, a platform and creative incubator devoted to ongoing theatrical development and artist cultivation. The 2019 Retreat will take place from June 12 - June 19.

Craft Latino proudly pays tribute today to one of Mexico's greatest stars, Antonio Aguilar, on what would have been his 100th birthday, with the release ofAntonio Aguilar Centenario: Colección de la Familia—a 100-song playlist curated by his sonPepe Aguilar and family. Goldenstein Gallery and The Lexington Hotel, Autograph Collection announce the final weekend of the 'Golden Dreams' Exhibit, featuring rare color separations of Marilyn Monroe from 1950, on display in the 'Norma Jeane Suite,' where Monroe herself once lived. The collection, which is valued at over $4 million, has been showing exclusively at The Lexington Hotel for a limited time through this Sunday, April 7. Open to the public by appointment only, this is the first time the full collection will be on display in New York City, a city which played a key role in Monroe's career and personal life.

 In 1962, fifty-seven years ago, the magnificent TONY BENNETT recorded "I Left My Heart in San Francisco."  The song was honored with two Grammy Awards, including "Record of the Year" and gave Tony a signature tune that, as he delights in saying, has made him "A Citizen of the World."  Last March, the classic was entered into the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress as "an aural treasure worthy of preservation."
