Graham 2 announces its 2019 New York season featuring works by Martha Graham and a world premiere by guest choreographer Brice Mousset. Performances are May 30 June 2 (Thursday through Saturday at 7pm, and Sunday at 3pm), at the Martha Graham Studio Theater, 55 Bethune Street, 11th floor, in Manhattan.

The season focuses on both historical and contemporary ideas of the feminine. Commissioned works from five of today's top choreographers will be presented, and the classic repertory features Martha Graham's heroines and anti-heroines—all with an underlying statement about female power.

Nimbus brings world premieres and acclaimed repertory to the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM Fisher) and South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) this spring, along with performances at The Putney School (Vermont) and in its hometown of Jersey City.

Spring activities for the Centennial, which continues through all of 2019, include a wide range of performances, film screenings, discussions, education initiatives, community programming, and new works by other artists in conversation with Merce Cunningham's work.

The January GrahamDeconstructed focuses on the extraordinary partnership between Martha Graham and sculptor-designer Isamu Noguchi and two of their collaborations, Herodiade (1944) and El Penitente (1940). The evening will include a rehearsal run-through of both works introduced by a conversation about the Graham/Noguchi collaboration. Following the presentation, the audience will have a chance to explore and photograph the Noguchi set pieces/sculptures.

Irving Berlin's WHITE CHRISTMAS is a 2000 musical based on Paramount Pictures 1954 film of the same name featuring the songs of Irving Berlin. The film itself was a remake of the film Holiday Inn. The new book is by David Ives and Paul Blake and features all of the songs from the 1954 film, along with some trunk songs, all by Irving Berlin and hews remarkably close to the plot line of the film, with a few exceptions. It premiered in St. Louis in 2000 at The Muny, after which it opened in San Francisco in 2004. This new stage musical played a limited engagement of 53 performances on Broadway at the Marquis Theatre in 2008. It received two 2009 Tony nominations and seven Drama Desk Award nominations.

As part of the Martha Graham Dance Company's popular Studio Series, Graham 2 will perform Martha Graham's beloved masterwork Appalachian Spring (1944). One of Graham's most celebrated works, Appalachian Spring has been called "shining and joyous" and "a testimony to the simple fineness of the human spirit" (The New York Times). The work features Aaron Copland's Pulitzer Prize-winning score and a spare set by Graham's longtime collaborator Isamu Noguchi. Performances are Saturday, December 8, at 1pm (family matinee) with an evening performance at 6pm, and Sunday, December 9, at 2pm. On Saturday evening, the score will be performed live by the International Chamber Orchestra of America directed by Daniel Feng.

The joyful noise emanating from downtown Gilbert is the unrestrained laughter of audiences during Hale Centre Theatre's uproarious production of Norman Krasna's timeless screwball comedy, DEAR RUTH, directed by Cambrian James and featuring a superb cast. The show runs through November 13th.

Dallas Chamber Symphony (DCS), under the direction of Artistic Director and Conductor Richard McKay, announces an exciting season of world premieres, internationally-renowned guest artists, and UnSilent Films during its 2018/19 season. Moody Performance Hall will come alive with classical favorites by Tchaikovsky, Bach, and Beethoven as well as twentieth-century works, including Bartok's Romanian Folk Dances, Hanson's Fantasy Variations on a Theme of Youth, and Martin's Petite symphonie concertante.

The EVE Project honors not only the progress of women in the last 100 years, but also provides entrée into today's most pressing conversations about gender and power. As one of the most celebrated musicians of his time, Leonard Bernstein (1918 - 1990) dedicated his life and career to the joy of music and the development of humanity. In his centennial year, the San Diego Symphony is proud to host a special Bernstein Festival in association with "Leonard Bernstein at 100", a world-wide celebration of his 100th birthday. Throughout the month of May, the San Diego Symphony will perform four special programs honoring Leonard Bernstein's life as a composer, conductor, educator, musician, cultural ambassador, and activist.

Juilliard Dance, led by acting artistic director Taryn Kaschock Russell, continues its season with Spring Dances, a repertory program featuring Merce Cunningham's Sounddance, set to Untitled 1975/1994 by David Tudor and staged by Jean Freebury; Crystal Pite's Grace Engine, set to music by Owen Belton and staged by Alexandra Damiani; and Twyla Tharp's Deuce Coupe, set to music by the Beach Boys and staged by Richard Colton.

Music Director Designate Jaap van Zweden will return to conduct the New York Philharmonic in Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 1, with Yuja Wang as soloist, and Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5.
