On Monday, August 15, the Theater People podcast welcomes three-time Tony-winning producer Kevin McCollum. Best known for producing Broadway mega-hits RENT, AVENUE Q, and, IN THE HEIGHTS, McCollum is also know for taking chances on smaller shows and shepherding them to Broadway. He brought THE DROWSY CHAPERONE to Broadway in 2006--it would go on to win five Tony Awards--and [TITLE OF SHOW] to Broadway in 2009.

Casting for the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of A Chorus Line, which won the Tony® Award for Best Musical, has been announced: Sabrina Bryan as Valerie Clark, Robert Fairchild as Mike Costa, Spencer Liff as Larry, Ross Lynch as Mark Anthony, in addition to Mara Davi as Maggie Winslow, Denis Lambert as Gregory Gardner, J. Elaine Marcos as Connie Wong, Jason Tam as Paul San Marco, and Leigh Zimmerman as Sheila Bryant. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

San Diego Musical Theatre (SDMT) continues their 2016 season with the musical comedy classic 42ND STREET today, May 27. This Tony Award-winning musical features music and lyrics by Harry Warren and Al Dubin, book by Michael Stewart (Hello Dolly, Bye Bye Birdie) and Mark Bramble (Barnum), directed by James Vasquez. Performances run through June 12, 2016 at the historic Spreckels Theatre. Press opening is Saturday, May 28th at 8:00PM.

On Monday, November 30, the Theater People podcast welcomes Broadway favorite Elizabeth Stanley. She is currently headlining the first national tour of THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY in the role of Francesca. Stanley made her Broadway debut as April in the 2006 John Doyle helmed production of COMPANY. She went on to originate the role of Allison in CRY BABY, and then Dyanne in MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET. Happy Birthday Michael Cerveris! Cerveris, who recently played 'Juan Peron' in Evita, has also appeared on Broadway in In the Next Room (or the vibrator play), Cymbeline, LoveMusik, Sweeney Todd, Children And Art, Passion, Assassins, Titanic and The Who's Tommy. His Off-Broadway credits include Road Show, King Lear, an oak tree, The Apple Tree, Wintertime, Fifth of July, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Blood Sports and Total Eclipse. Cerveris has also performed in regional productions of Anyone Can Whistle, Spring Awakening, Sunday in the Park with George, Chess and more.

Labyrinth Theater Company (Artistic Director Mimi O'Donnell, Executive Director Danny Feldman) presents a free, Halloween performance of Empanada Loca at 10pm on October 31. All tickets for this performance will be distributed via an online lottery system at labtheater.org. The lottery will open on October 26 at noon and will close at noon on October 30 at noon and winners will be contacted by 2pm.

Performers from the beloved Off-Broadway musical BARE are coming together to honor the show's late creator, Damon Intrabartolo, tonight, October 12, at Feinstein's/ 54 Below at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
