A cast of five standout Seattle musical theatre performers, joined by a live band, perform a compelling series of songs based on the real words of people in American immigrant communities.
The Golden Door draws from a series of interviews conducted by composer Shaudi Bianca Vahdat with members of BIPOC immigrant communities in the US. Using these interviews, historical documents, and her own identity as a second generation Iranian-American, Shaudi has crafted a series of songs honoring, exploring, and finding joy in these diverse tales of coming to the US.
This event is FREE and open to the public! No need to reserve your spot, just show up and grab a seat. Our event is on the large stage at the Seattle Center Armory--there are tons of food vendors if you want to grab a bite, and plenty of chairs will be set up in front of the stage.
