(6/20/2018) - The second annual Burien Pride festival, sponsored by Blissful Knead and Kaiser Permanente, saw approximately 5,000 attendees in a span of 10 hours on Saturday June 2, 2018. The free family-friendly event was held in Burien Town Square Park and included a 21+ beer garden sponsored by Elliott Bay Brewhouse, a play area with inflatables, two performance stages, and close to 100 vendors and community partners.

(5/3/2018) - Seattle Shakespeare Company closes its 2017-2018 season with Shakespeare in Love, the delightful new stage adaptation of Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard's Academy Award-winning film. This warm and witty romantic comedy will be helmed by Seattle Shakespeare Company's Artistic Director George Mount. Originally produced by Disney Theatrical Productions and Sonia Friedman Productions and adapted for the stage by Lee Hall with music by Paddy Cuneen, Shakespeare in Love previews May 2 and 3, opens May 4 and runs through June 3 at the Cornish Playhouse at the Seattle Center.

(5/2/2018) - Forward Flux's production of PILGRIMS by Claire Kiechel is now playing, bringing sci-fi thrills and chills at West of Lenin, showing until May 19th. This play was workshopped in our Studio for four weeks last year, and we are excited to remount it as a full production for its West Coast premiere. Playwright Claire Kiechel has also written SOME DARK PLACES OF THE EARTH and NORWAY, and she is a writer on the upcoming second season of Netflix's "The OA." PILGRIMS is directed by Forward Flux Creative Director Emily Penick, who directed the Studio workshop last year. Penick also designed the set.

Nora desperately wants to get back to 2016 but Paul Cezanne, another obscure artist with his own problems, is not being helpful. Also ensnared in Nora's crisis are an art historian from Utah and Cezanne's gardener.

(2/5/2018) - With great excitement, Seattle Repertory Theatre presents its world premiere production of the new comedy, Ibsen in Chicago. The story from playwright David Grimm (Measure for Pleasure; The Miracle at Naples) follows a group of Scandinavian immigrants working to put on the world premiere of Ghosts, a new play by the revered and controversial Norwegian dramatist of the time, Henrik Ibsen. Ibsen in Chicago was commissioned and developed by Seattle Rep through the organization's 'The Other Season,' program, and will run February 2 - March 4, 2018 (opening night is Wednesday, February 7, 2018) in the Leo K. Theatre. Tickets are on sale now through the Seattle Rep Box Office at 206.443.2222 and online at seattlerep.org.
