Macha Monkey Productions announces Buckshot by Courtney Meaker directed by Peggy Gannon premiering at the The Studio, Cornish Playhouse at Seattle Center, tonight, November 8 - 23rd.

On the verge of moving in with her girlfriend, Alana's uncle resurfaces forcing her to choose between moving forward or conquering old villains of the past. A play told in two worlds, Buckshot asks is fighting our demons the same as letting them go, and which choice makes us stronger?

Featuring the acting talents of Katie Driscoll, Megan Ahiers, Jordi Montes, Narea Kang, Daniel Wood, Gianni Truzzi, Randall Brammer.

Designers include Brandon Estrella, Tess Malone, Julia Evanovich, Joseph Swartz (two time Gregory nominee for sound design), Robin Macartney.

Opening Night November 8th, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances follow opening night. Special Industry Night Performance Monday November 18 at 8pm. All performances play The Studio, Cornish Playhouse at Seattle Center, 201 Mercer St., Seattle, WA (Blackbox is located behind the main theatre). Tickets: $18 in advance available through machamonkey.org; $20 at the door each night of the show.

About the director: Peggy Gannon is the Managing Director of MAP Theatre and has been a Seattle theatre artist for 20 years as an actor, director, and producer. She co-founded and was the Managing Director of the popular and critically acclaimed sketch group Bald Faced Lie (BFL) from 1995-2005, recognized nationally and internationally. From 2003-2009, Gannon was on the producing steering committee of 14/48: The World's Quickest Theatre Festival (now in its 12th year). She is a 14/48 Mazen Award recipient, rewarded to veteran participants of 14/48 for their contribution to the spirit of risk taking and camaraderie. Around town, Gannon has recently worked at the Seattle Rep, ArtsWest and Theater Schmeater, among others.

About the playwright: Courtney Meaker has worked in Seattle for the past four years as a director, dramaturg, stage manager, and playwright as well as a Theatre Contributor to TheSunbreak.com. She's been involved with this community for the past 4 years as a house manager with Intiman (its last full season), Book-It Rep, Seattle Shakespeare Company, and Intiman Theatre Festival. She's the co-writer of the second season of the locally produced, award-winning webseries WRECKED from Honey Toad Studios. Her play Chaos Theory will be produced by Annex Theatre in April of 2014.
