The Plot is a high-stakes theatrical thriller set in the immediate aftermath of the Gunpowder Plot, blending courtroom drama, backstage theatre and epic tragicomedy into an exploration of power, truth and storytelling. Two brothers stand accused of high treason while a playwright weaves their story into a new masterpiece to save his own skin. Written and directed by Emma Howlett, the production features performers Sophie Kean and Abby McCann, with design by Ellie Wintour, lighting by Ed Saunders, and sound and composition by Sarah Spencer. This is the fourth production from theatregoose, known for highly physical, visually immersive and intellectually sharp work.
