The Great Shakespeare Showdown at Haldane Theatre at theSpace @ Surgeons' Hall (Venue 53)

Set in the fall of 1882 in Leadville, Colorado, this new play by Dennis Elkins takes place in a town Opera House where famed English thespian Charles Goodknight is tricked into an onstage duel of Bardic banter against firebrand all-American actress Harriet Twelvetrees. The production features audience participation as Master of Ceremonies Billy the Miner challenges both the performers and the audience to a duel of wit and word. The cast includes Kate Poling as Harriet, Mel Schaffer as Billy, and Dan Morrison as Charles, directed and produced by Penny Cole.
