The Ferry at Dundee Rep Theatre

Written by Linda McLean, inspired by an original idea by Paul Rattray, and directed by Jemima Levick, The Ferry explores county lines exploitation and its damaging impact on communities across Scotland. Fifteen-year-old Freddy, newly orphaned, is offered a job and a train ticket from Glasgow to Dundee by a new acquaintance, Chris, arriving at Broughty Ferry where Darren cares for his dementia-affected dad Rab while his aunt June looks out for them. The play explores family, grief, exploitation, and the blurred line between care and control.
