Do Not Pass Go at CatStrand, New Galloway (Arts D&G Live)

Do Not Pass Go, from award-winning theatre company Jordan & Skinner, tells the story of Lizzie Magie, the pioneering feminist, economist, and games designer who invented "The Landlord's Game" — the board game that became Monopoly — only to have it stolen by Charles Darrow, who became the first millionaire games designer in history. Created and performed by Melanie Jordan and directed by Caitlin Skinner, the show uses clown, physical theatre, dance, British Sign Language, and spoken English to bring Magie's story to life. The production is Jordan & Skinner's first fully accessible to deaf audiences, featuring integrated BSL throughout, and explores why women continue to be disadvantaged by economic systems and why alternatives remain hard to imagine.
