Do Not Pass Go, created by Melanie Jordan and Caitlin Skinner, tells the unheralded story of Lizzie Magie, the pioneering feminist, economist, and games designer who invented "The Landlord's Game" — the board game that would become Monopoly. Magie's game was stolen by Charles Darrow, who repurposed it and became the first millionaire games designer in history, while Magie's contribution was lost to history. Using clown, physical theatre, dance, British Sign Language, and spoken English, Jordan & Skinner use Magie's story to investigate why women continue to be disadvantaged by the economic system. The show is Jordan & Skinner's first to feature fully integrated BSL, making it accessible to deaf audiences.
