SUICIDE PACT Makes Edinburgh Fringe Debut
Two strangers meet on a bridge one night and strike up an unlikely friendship after making a pact to kill themselves. As they share their stories, will the different paths that led them to the bridge that night and their newfound friendship be enough to save them both?
Featuring an original script and songs by Irish playwright and actor, Jason Goodwin-Tully, SUICIDE PACT makes its Edinburgh Fringe Festival debut 8-25 August at PQA Venues @ Riddles Court in the city's Royal Mile district.
A ground-breaking piece of new writing that explores male mental health and suicide, SUICIDE PACT was inspired by Goodwin-Tully's real and intimate conversations about mental illness with gay male friends and young men. He discovered that all of them suffered depression or thoughts of suicide in one form or the other and through stigma, guilt or shame, their stories were not being shared. Weaving these deeply personal accounts into a musical dark comedy stage production, Goodwin-Tully has created a contemporary piece that shares the reality of mental illness and finding the light - or a laugh - in the darkest of life's moments.
Featuring Ronan Radin (Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama) and Jason Goodwin-Tully (DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama Dublin). Directed by Charmaine K. Parkin (Bok Theatre UK Creator) and Amelia Gardham (Arts University Bournemouth). Original script and score by Jason Goodwin-Tully.
