SOUVENIR Now Playing at Ensemble Theatre Company Thru Feb. 28
Souvenir NOW PLAYING through Feb 28, 2010
(Tue-Sat, at 8 PM and Sun at 2 & 7 PM)
Florence Foster Jenkins fancied herself a great opera singer. There was just one problem: she was tone deaf. Through a winning combination of determination and self-delusion, Jenkins' popularity grows as she moves from small concerts to recordings and, finally, an outrageous sold-out concert at Carnegie Hall.
Michael Evan Haney, who helmed ETC's production of The Syringa Tree, returns to Ensemble to direct. Based on a true story, Souvenir is a celebration of indomitable spirit and the inner diva in us all.
