The Blackest Wrench is a Juneteenth edition of The Infinite Wrench, featuring an all-Black cast of Neo-Futurists from around the country. The show delivers 30 original plays in 60 minutes, with ensemble members writing every piece themselves and performing as themselves — no characters, no fiction, no fourth wall. The result is a rapid-fire collage of moments that are funny, intimate, confrontational, and deeply personal, with some plays lasting seconds and others stretching longer. The debut sold out, with critic Charles Lewis III writing in 48 Hills that the show was cathartic in its resonance.
