Actors Ensemble starts off our 6th consecutive year of performances in the beautiful John Hinkel Park Amphitheatre (and our 61st year overall) with William Shakespeare's greatest play, "Hamlet", presented in an accessible 105 minute version adapted from a version originally produced for radio by the BBC. Performed in 2 acts with an intermission (food available), the role of Hamlet itself will be shared by all the cast members, at times singly, at times as part of a chorus, in a manner reminiscent of the acclaimed adaption of Sophocles' tragedy, "The Gospel at Colonus". Music and movement in the midst of beautiful surroundings bring Shakespeare's greatest play to life - a wondrous way to spend a summer afternoon. Directed by Stanley Spenger, with over 40 years of experience acting in and directing Shakespeare. Wheelchair accessible, reservations available but not required at 510-649-5999. Directions/Transit information available at our website, http://www.aeofberkeley.org.
