Evita at Raven Performing Arts Theater

Evita: Ambitious and magnetic, she’s a starlet at 22, the president’s mistress at 24, and First Lady at 27, only to die of cancer at 33. Although unscrupulous on her scramble to the top, once there, Evita advocated and championed workers’ and women’s rights, leaving a political legacy about which opinions still vary.

The musical debuted in London’s West End in 1978, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, and includes the hit numbers “Another Suitcase in Another Hall” and “Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina.”
