Opera San José presents an all-new production of Béla Bartók’s psychological thriller Bluebeard’s Castle, directed by Shawna Lucey. The one-act opera follows Judith, played by Maria Natale, as she explores the ominous secrets of her husband, Duke Bluebeard, portrayed by Zachary Nelson in his OSJ debut. With music conducted by Joseph Marcheso, the opera will be performed in English with supertitles. The production runs from February 15 to March 2, 2025, at the California Theatre.
