Becoming a Man, written by P. Carl and directed by Lyam B. Gabel, tells the story of a man who, after 50 years of living as a girl and then a queer woman, decides to affirm his gender—putting his family, career, and friendships at stake. The play poses the question: when we change, can the people we love come with us? Petey Gibson stars as Carl, alongside Laura Domingo, Eric Esquivel-Gutierrez, Erin Gould, Shoana T. Hunt, Casimir Kotarski, and JoAnne Winter. Following its world premiere at American Repertory Theater at Harvard University, this West Coast premiere comes to Z Space's Steindler Stage as the first full production of Z Space's Trans Artist Initiative.
