She will be joined by Lucas Michael Chandler as Scarecrow/Hunk, Cole Bryant as Tin Man/Hickory, Danny Georgiev as Cowardly Lion/Zeke, Safira McGrew as Aunt Em/Glinda, Libby Oberlin as Miss Gulch/The Wicked Witch of the West, and David L. The Munchkins will be performed by participants in the Mountain Play’s Youth Conservatory program, which provides tuition-free arts education and performance opportunities.

CREATIVE TEAM

The production will be directed by Dyan McBride, with music direction by Jon Gallo and choreography by Meredith Joelle Charlson.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

Based on L. Frank Baum’s novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the musical features songs by Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg, including “Over the Rainbow,” “If I Only Had a Brain,” and “We’re Off to See the Wizard.” The outdoor staging combines live performance with the natural setting of Mount Tamalpais State Park.

Executive Director and Artistic Producer Eileen Grady said, “There’s no place like home, and we could not be more excited to return to the Mountain with this incredible cast and energy to present a one-of-a-kind magical experience.”

The production continues the Mountain Play’s long-running tradition of presenting large-scale outdoor musicals in the Bay Area.
