One of America's most widely produced playwright's, Jeffrey Hatcher, blends fiction with fact in the provocative and witty A Picasso.  This play is in the fourth show slot and will run January 24-Febuary 22, 2009.

"It's Paris, a city renowned for its artistic freedom. But its 1941 and the German occupation has established a paranoid culture at its most oppressive. Pablo Picasso has been brought to a storage vault to authenticate three painting that have been recently 'acquired' by the Germans.  The beautiful, mysterious and art obsessed Miss Fischer, an adjunct to the Ministry of Culture in Berlin, has the arduous and compelling task of interrogating the man who painted Guernica.  When the true purpose of Miss Fischer's mission is revealed, they enter into an intense and passionate game of cat-and-mouse.  This provocative and witty play, by one of America's most widely produced playwrights, sizzles under the scrutiny of art, politics, sex and censorship, as the artistic genius is forced to justify his creativity," press notes state.

The 2008-09 season will feature world premiere of the stage adaptation of the award-winning novel, The Kite Runner, presented by Hitachi Data Systems, written by Khaled Hosseini and adapted by Matthew Spangler, the Broadway Tony award-winning hit The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and the West Coast premiere of Splitting Infinity.  The season opens with the regional premiere of The Foreigner and followed by the spectacular adventures of Phileas Fogg's race around the world in the family-friendly Around the World in 80 Days.
