Marin Theatre is investigating family mythologies in the West Coast Premiere of the intimate Broadway play Pictures from Home. Get a first look at production photos here!
Playwright Sharr White transports late Marin photographer Larry Sultan’s landmark photo memoir to the stage. In this moving and theatrically inventive work, Marin County resident Sultan turns the lens on his parents, wrestling with generational differences to shed new light on the past. Travelling over a decade from his Greenbrae home to his parents’ stylish tract house in the San Fernando Valley, Sultan seeks the truth behind his memories, searching for a deeper understanding of both his parents and himself through interviews and photography.
Bay Area theatre mainstay Victor Talmadge plays father Irving Sultan alongside Daniel Cantor as Larry Sultan and Susan Koozin as mother Jean Sultan. Acclaimed theatre director Jonathan Moscone helms this new production. Pictures From Home will be performed through May 31, 2026.
