Charles Ross Returns To Post For 'Star Wars' Solo Show

 The man, the myth, the trilogy returns! Solo performer Charles Ross returns to San Francisco's Post Street Theatre for 19 performances only (September 25 - October 12) with his wildly popular hit show One Man Star Wars Trilogy. One Man Star Wars Trilogy is a hilarious, high energy, nonstop blast through the original Star Wars trilogy, but with one catch: there's only one cast member, Charles Ross, a writer and solo performer who spent way too much of his childhood in a galaxy far, far away. Ross plays all the characters, recreates the effects, sings the music, flies the ships, and fights both sides of the light saber battles, making for a side-splitting evening.
Charles Ross Ross (pictured right) has performed his one-man tour de force across the globe, from Toronto to Edinburgh, Dublin to Dubai, to San Francisco, where it won over both critics and Jedi Knights when it first played the Post Street Theatre in March 2007. The San Francisco Chronicle called the show "irresistible...fast-paced, action-packed and very funny" while the Contra Costa Times called One Man Star Wars Trilogy a "high-energy parody" that "brings out the 'Star Wars' fan in all of us."

Charles Ross is a Canadian actor who has followed his heart and his career from one side of the continent to the other. Since first performing his One Man Star Wars Trilogy in Toronto in January of 2001, Ross has brought countless audiences, both large and small, to their feet with his surprisingly unique performances. He's made appearances on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, The Today Show, and Late Night with Conan O'Brien. His off-Broadway debut in August 2005 was a smashing success with critics raving about the incredible intensity that Charles brings to his work. To mark the release of Star Wars: Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith, Charles was honored to perform at Lucasfilm's official movie release convention, Celebration 3. Even the likes of Vin Diesel and Sir Ian McKellen have taken in his performances with rave reviews.

Director T.J. Dawe has toured the Fringe festival circuits numerous times and toured extensively throughout North America and Australia. He received a Jessie Richardson Award for Best New Play or Musical in 1998 for Tired Clichés. In 2001, Dawe received the "Just For Laughs" Comedy Award for The Slipknot. Dawe was also the winner of the "Best Male Performer" award at the 2002 Orlando International Fringe Festival. Longtime friends, Ross and Dawe continue to collaborate - they'd be crazy not to.

One Man Star Wars Trilogy will play the Post Street Theatre (450 Post St., 2nd Floor) Thursday, September 25 through Sunday, October 12, 2008. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 5 and 9 p.m., and Sunday at 3 p.m. All seats for opening night (Thursday, September 25) are $25; ticket prices for regular performances are $39 and $49.
