WCPC Presents LUNCH and DESSERT, 11/15

Lunch and Dessert were the first plays that launched Diversionary in November 1986 at the West Coast Production Company (WCPC). Diversionary will do a reading of both one-act plays as part of their 25th Anniversary celebration on Monday, November 15 at 7:30pm.

New Village Arts Festival to Include MACHINE GUNNER, CHRISTMAS CAROL, et al.

New Village Arts, Carlsbad's award-winning, professional theatre, continues to honor its commitment to bringing new works of art to the San Diego community with a month-long festival of World Premiere plays. Yury Klavdiev's I AM THE MACHINE GUNNER, Renee Moreno's PICTURING MY SISTER and Rachael VanWormer and Brian Mackey's new adaptation of Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL comprise this thrilling, eclectic festival of new plays, running November 12 - 28 at New Village Arts Theatre in Carlsbad Village (2787 State Street, Carlsbad, CA 92008). Cygnet Presents ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, 11/1 & 8

Artistic Director Sean Murray is pleased to announce a concert staged reading of the hilarious and rarely performed musical, ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, with book and lyrics by Betty Comdon and Adolph Green and music by Cy Coleman. The delightfully comedic romp will be performed free to attendees of Cygnet Theatre's Mini-Benefit, with proceeds supporting the Storytelling on the Green Program. The Mini-Benefit and Concert Reading will be presented TWO NIGHTS ONLY on Mondays, November 1st and 8th at Cygnet Theatre in Old Town. The Mini-Benefit begins at 6:30pm and the Concert Reading begins at 7:30pm.

La Jolla Playhouse announces the first four plays of its 2011/12 Season, including the Playhouse co-commissioned Milk Like Sugar, by Kirsten Greenidge, directed by Rebecca Taichman; the world-premiere of A Dram of Drumchhicit, by Arthur Kopit and Anton Dudley, directed by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley; Peer Gynt, by Henrik Ibsen, adapted and directed by David Schweizer; and American Night: The Ballad of Juan José by Richard Montoya for Culture Clash, directed by Jo Bonney. The final two subscription shows of the 2011/12 season - both musicals - will be announced shortly.

Established to welcome and thank our LGBT audience members, Cygnet's 2010/2011 Season includes one night per production with a free pre-show mixer including cocktails, appetizers and enter-to-wins. Everyone is welcome to attend, with a distinct focus on the LGBT Community. Remaining OUT NIGHT dates include October 20th (Living Together), December 15th (It's a Wonderful Life), February 16th (The Tragedy of the Commons), April 27th (Cabaret) and July 6th (Our Town). The FREE pre-show mixer begins at 6:30pm and the performance begins at 7:30pm.
