Tony nominee SHARON McNIGHT brings her tribute to the First Lady of Show Business, Miss Sophie Tucker, to the Gallo Arts. This is the concert version of McNight's Off-Broadway show which features the life and music of Tucker's career that spanned over six. decades. Tucker did burlesque, vaudeville, the Ziegfield Follies, film, radio, television, nightclubs and the Broadway stage, and was the first to sell a million copies of a record. The show takes place in New York City's famous supperclub, The Latin Quarter, owned by Lou Walters, Barbara's father. This show won BroadwayWorld.com's show of the year and features classic songs from the American songbook that Tucker introduced earning her the title of "Last of the Red Hot Mamas".
