Tony-award winning Best Musical Fun Home is based on the best-selling memoir of graphic novelist Alison Bechdel - who embarks on a journey into her past and an unflinching look at her father, the volatile, brilliant, one-of-a-kind man whose temperament and secrets defined her family and her life. Questioning whether or not her Father has committed suicide, Alison moves between past and present, reliving her unique childhood growing up with her siblings in the family funeral home, her growing understanding of her own sexuality, and the looming, unspoken questions about her father’s hidden desires. Fun Home is a refreshingly honest, wholly original musical about seeing your parents through grown-up eyes, about figuring out who you are, and about coming to terms with the past that shaped you.
